Tonga is not the greatest hiking destination in the South pacific - most of the islands are flat coral islands where the forest has been cleared for small scale plantations to grow rootcrops and fruits for the family. Only Eu'a Island in the south and to a lesser extent Vavau in the north have good hiking trails through forest to hill lookouts. On Lifuka Island on Haapai, there are some lovely beach walks along the south east coast and the south coast of the main island of Tongatapu has some nice trails along coastal cliffs.
