Tonga Arrival Information
Tonga International Airport = Fua'amotu Airport,
21km from Nuku'alofa on south coast of Tongatapu Island.

Visas = Entry visas for Tonga are automatically granted on arrival to MOST Nationals for a stay of 31 days. Extensions for up to 6-months may be obtained by applying in person at the Immigration Office in Nuku'alofa, at a fee of T$40 for every extra month requested. Those wishing to research, study, work or reside in Tonga, even on a temporary basis, must obtain authority to do so before arrival.

Vaccinations = None required except for yellow fever and cholera if coming from an infected area. Importation of plants, animals and associated products is strictly prohibited.

Transfers = No airport bus or public transport. A taxi to Nuku'alofa costs around T$20. Resorts and guesthouses provide meet and greet service on request.

Banking = There are three currency exchange counters at the airport: Western Union, MBF Bank and E.M.Jones Currency exchanges.

Departure Tax = T$25 per person, children under 12 free

Time = +13 hours ahead GMT (London),

Others = Several small duty free shops. No Luggage storage.

Internal flights = to Ha'apai, Vava'u and Niuatoputapu depart from Fua'amotu International Airport.
