Samoa has the most extensive community tourism programme in the South Pacific with lots of village communities offering accommodation in traditional thatch bungalows. This is without doubt the best destination to explore the living culture and interact and contribute to the local community. Several projects to help protect the natural forests are in progress including the unique forest canopy walkway on Savaii. There's also excellent coastal scenery on Western Samoa and some beautiful areas of natural rain forest on American Samoa.
