The Port Vila Golf and Country Club (PVGCC) was founded in 1983 by the then President of the Republic of Vanuatu, Ati George Sokomanu. Situated on the beautiful Mele Bay, some 10 kilometres west of town, the Port Vila Golf and Country Club has become a very important part of life in these islands.

The course design has incorporated the existing palm trees and Mele Bay as natural hazards. The Par-4 ninth hole runs along the water and can cause problems for anyone who hooks their ball off the tee.

Built in two stages over 10 years, the course now boasts 18 challenging holes set over close to 6,000 metres. Framed by tropical foliage, dotted with strategically placed bunkers and small greens, the course tests the skills of all that play it.
