A highlight to any South Pacific holiday is attending one of the local South Pacific festivals or special events. Unfortunately most festivals change their dates from year to year and such is the efficiency in the region that dates are not usually set until 6-months before the event.

One of the great highlights in the South Pacific is the Festival of Pacific Arts held every fourth year and rotated between the Pacific nations. The next festival will be held in 2009 on American Samoa -

The South Pacific Games is the largest sporting event and takes place every 4 years.
