Hawaii Travel Guide:
Hawaii Arrival Info
Hawaii entry requirements are the same for all US States. Citizens of Britain, Ireland, most European countries, Canada, Australia and New Zealand do not require visas for trips less than 90-days. Other nationals must obtain a visa from their nearest US Embassy before travelling.

Hawaii has an extremely strict quarantine control forbidding the importation of all plants and animals into the State from the Mainland or anywhere else in the world. Cats and Dogs are allowed but must first stay in quarantine for 120-days. Hefty fines apply to those who break the laws, however innocent their claims.

Honolulu Airport
Arriving at Honolulu is a rather bland experience. Many tourists are met by tour reps but those travelling independently will find little help at hand except for a large rack of brochures, a small free phone desk with links to a dozen or so hotels and a few small innocuous Hawaii information desks operated on a volunteer basis. Public buses (US$1.50 a ride) service Waikiki on a regular basis but only hand luggage is allowed. Tourist buses charge US$8 one way and offer a door to door hotel service which can take anything from 1 to 2 hours depending on whether you are the first or last passenger to be dropped off. Car hire companies offer free shuttle buses to their premises. Few other facilities are available at Honolulu Airport. There is do duty free on arrival and only a handful of shops on departure, most of which close at 9pm. Inter island flights for all islands depart from Honolulu International Airport between 6am to 8pm.
